I just purchased www.IPBSetup.com and it was suggested to me that I use that URL vs the current www.IPBHelp.me

 

I like the .me I have, I think it's catchy, but I do see a point in useing a .com.

 

If you had these two URL and wanted to make a general support site for IPB fans, which one would you use?

also, does anyone know how I'd go about changing the URL in the IPB settings? I can do it in vBulletin blindfolded, but I'm still searching around in IPB for settings.

I voted for IPBSetup.com just because of your last forum...even though the name now is quite catchy like you say haha

You know my stance on this. I'm for IPBsetup.com. It sounds more professional, is a TLD, and isn't geo-specific.

in vBulletin it was one setting under general settings, URL address.. is it the same in IPB? :blink:

Brandon, I know you will need to edit the conf_global.php file.

 

The value should be easy to spot -

 

$INFO['board_url']			=	'http://www.domain.com';

You will also need to got to Admin CP > System > System Settings > General Configuration and make the necessary changes there.

 

I'm not positive, but I am thinking that might do it for you.

I also vote for IPBsetup.com.

Change the URL in global config and in the general settings then rebuild the caches. Rebuilding will update all the links to the old domain.

See if that squares things away.

Yeah I see that also....they're at the top also.

Weird, the buttons backgrounds are showing for me.

I just took care of the buttons, had to re-cache the styles.. I guess I didn't get them all when I switched URL's
