Blake Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I know there have been some recent IPB converts who have switched their sites over from a different script, so I thought I might could get some insight. Years ago I converted a phpBB board to IPB. But I don't recall exactly how I did it. I think the phpBB forums were set up in a /forums directory and I installed IPB in /forum ran the conversion, and then deleted the /forums and then switched /forum to /forums [did that make sense?] But for my latest project I now need to convert a MyBB that is in the home directory to IPB. I have two thoughts on how maybe to get it done. Can you help me decide the best path? 1. Should I create a domain.com/forum and install the new IPB there, then run the conversion, delete the MyBB forum, and finally move the newly configured IPB to the home directory? -or- 2. Delete the MyBB forum out of the home directory, install IPB, then simply run the conversion script? 3. Or is there a better route? Quote
Administrators AWS Posted May 2, 2010 Administrators Posted May 2, 2010 I installed IPB on a test domain and then after the conversion I moved everything to the root of the site I converted removing the other software. It worked well that way. Quote
