Hello All!

I am a convert from vB to IPB. Although my site is much smaller than your sites, I do have high hopes.. :) Somewhere I have read/studied a quote I am consistently reminded of and being here is a good example of this:

Your life is equal to your five closest friends

To me, I have taken this to mean that by surrounding myself with people with better ideas, plans and goals than myself I have been motivated to do better myself. I have applied this to my company I started in 2003 and it's doing really well.

So, having said all that I am excited to be here to learn and hopefully grow/develop my site. I do have to say, my personal life changed several years ago and I was heavily into building porn sites and now I have converted my life to Christ and my site is a Christian site, I have to say it sure was easier building a porn site. In the end, I would rather have a clean smaller site than the smut I use to push..

I look forward to getting to know IPB and you guys/gals more!

Hi,

I new here too, and I'm using vB for 4 years now. I have a relative small to medium site and is doing well, but I'm very sad with late year changes in vB and the future is very dark.

My site get's more visits from January to October, so I'm staying with vB3.x for now and learning IPB (I have a suite license). The 3.1 have some nice features and I'll wait a little longer to see some move histories and to wait to November or December.

I already tested and simulate a move, imported actual vB database to learn and to understand what to expect when it's time to move.

The only think I'll miss is .org because I think IPB Resource isn't well organized. I'll miss vB3.x manual, but since vB4 wont have one, either vB and IPB will be in the same foot.

I prefer IPB community ... more friendly, support staff stays around answering to questions, there's some peace around and I like it.

So ... I'm learning, reading, listening and deciding :)

I'm seeing some more familiar names starting to move to IPB. You'll like it fine.
