Is there a feature or plugin that lets users have private or password protected threads?

 

Private as in that the thread starter controls who can read/write in that thread.

the only way to sort of keep the threads private is to make the forum private, i belive theres a setting were only the thread poster and staff can only see the thread but i'm not sure, i belive if you change the permission masks that might sort of do the same trick.

Ok, yeah I know about the settings where you can make it so that a user can only see their own threads. But those private threads need to be accessable to other members too. Provided they are invited and/or have the password.

use permission masks and password protection or better yet, use the hidden board and give them the board URL that usually solves the problem!

But that wouldn't work, because if user A, B, and C are supposed to view and post in a thread but users D to Z are not - how am I gonna achieve this with forum permissions?

make the forum hidden and give the url to the members that need it, or make a secondary group for the members and use permission masls that way.
