GoodOmens Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I don't mean to start any sort of flame war but what are some of the great advantages of IPB? I've used phpbb2, phpbb3, and vbulletin but never installed IPB ... any compelling reason for me to try it? Quote
phenetic Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I absolutely love IPB's forum permission system, it's so amazingly easy where as vBulletin you have to edit each usergroup individually for each forum. IPB is relatively easy for new owners to use as well, and their style sheet editor is very in depth, which is a plus and negative, depending on you. I would never recommend phpBB to someone sober, so if vBulletin is too complicated for you or if you're just sick of it, go with IPB imho. Quote
GoodOmens Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Oh cool ... I do find the permissions annoying in vb. IPB does sound like a great system! Quote
Tom Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 The permissions system! Unlike other forum scripts, IPB has a very innate and customizable permissions system. The options are truly endless. Quote
John Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 The entire adminCP and back end (including permissions) Its by far the easiest and most intuitive of any forum software I've used in a long long time. Quote
