How to move from VB+vbSEO to IPB?
Yes ... search at vBseo for uninstall and you get the rewrite rule to redirect to vB default urls. In the IPB Conversion tools you'll have a showthread.php a forumdisplay.php (and some other fiels) that you must upload to the same folder where vB were. Configure it and let it do the work for you :) I don't think so.

My journey converting to IPB from vB + vBSEO
Hi, Some people loosed 1/2 and 2/3 of visitors because of this and are trying to recover after a month, even without a switch, so your problem can be related to this and amplified by the conversion. I have read lots of threads and most are going well. I haven't moved yet because spring and summer are my best months and there are some mods I need to have before going live ... and since 3.1 is around the corner, I'll wait patiently until then.

My journey converting to IPB from vB + vBSEO
They are f123/long-topic-name-456/ for topics and f123/ for forums, but you can change the regular expression to match different url's scheme. These only match topics, for forums I'll do it in nginx directly! With some time I'll try to make it work for all topic pages (index1.html, index2.html, etc). After a week or two, I'll change this to the default IPB conversion (showthread and forumdisplay) to avoid checking the url's in every request.

My journey converting to IPB from vB + vBSEO
I read about this and the trend was to avoid chain redirect, but your experience is valuable. I already tested some code to make the redirect in the /index.php and I'm able to redirect once from vB+vBseo to IPB furl, so this is not a problem anymore. Yes ... I'm talking about that, but at this time no one knows how they do that. There are reports about people having this problem and they don't use vBseo so, this may be something from vB itself! I think I "know" you from a post at vBseo and saw you change to IPB. That was a very fast jump :) if you are who I think, you have a very nice forum with a very nice and original skin ... that is a good start for you "new" forum! Well, can these be bad crawlers that google recognise and ignore? The SERP's are good news too! I think people are having more problems moving from vB3 to vB4 than to IPB ... there are reports of people loosing 1/2 traffic. I have some nice 1st positions that pay my bills and don't want to loose them! Just waiting for my low season, until then I hope we will see IPB3.1 and IPC2 so I can make the jump .... vB4 will only be used to buy a vB5 pre-sale :)

My journey converting to IPB from vB + vBSEO
Hello AzzidReign, How are you doing with all theses changes? I have been testing the move from vB + vBseo to IPB too and I notice that this move will make a redirect chain ... some claim that Google doesn't like this, so maybe they penalize you. 1. Redirect from vB+vBseo to vB default url (301) 2. Redirect from vB default to IPB default (301) 3. Redirect from IPB default to IPB FURL (301) I'm testing a small code to get only one redirect. I notice too that lately some users are having problems with global_start plugin and all they traffic are been redirected to external sites, make them loose they traffic and rank. Maybe these can explain your dropping.

Welcome all ex vBulletin Users
Hi, I new here too, and I'm using vB for 4 years now. I have a relative small to medium site and is doing well, but I'm very sad with late year changes in vB and the future is very dark. My site get's more visits from January to October, so I'm staying with vB3.x for now and learning IPB (I have a suite license). The 3.1 have some nice features and I'll wait a little longer to see some move histories and to wait to November or December. I already tested and simulate a move, imported actual vB database to learn and to understand what to expect when it's time to move. The only think I'll miss is .org because I think IPB Resource isn't well organized. I'll miss vB3.x manual, but since vB4 wont have one, either vB and IPB will be in the same foot. I prefer IPB community ... more friendly, support staff stays around answering to questions, there's some peace around and I like it. So ... I'm learning, reading, listening and deciding :)

vBulletin With VBseo vs IPB Rewriten Urls
Hello, I'm new here and I must confess I very disappointed with vB4 ... even my moderators want to stay with vB3 :( I use vB + vBseo and I'm stuck! I don't know if I should change to IPB or if I should upgrade to vB4. This is a big dilemma :) Edit: I have a IPB Suite license and I'm using in it in a new project, but i seems slower than vB3. Do you have the same felling?
