  3. Howdy members new and old. I have decided to revive this community. It's been a wild ride. I had a stroke and other health issues which caused me to step away from community building. When my health issues were over I strayed to another forum software product that for now will remain nameless. Had another bad turn with my health and closed my sites again. This time I was sure I'd never open any communities again. I did survive and health is as good as it is going to get. So here we are again back on Invision Community software. I always have thought that Invision Community was the best forum software package. After running the other software for a while I reali…

  4. Bob, just for the record - I purchased the IPB Webmaster.com domain on 4 February, 2010. On 5 February, I purchased the Invision licenses used on that site. In late July of that same year, I suffered a mild (if there can be such a thing) stroke and started scaling back my online presence. IPB Webmaster was still a fledgling community that needed a lot of effort to be nurtured into real life, so I passed along the database and all the IPB Webmaster and IPB Help domain names, free-of-charge, to our mutual friend, the owner of that 'upstart Admin community'. I did sell the Invision licenses used on that site, to the same individual, at a later date. I was unaware…

  5. Started by AWS,

For the people that don't know me I am Bob the new owner of IPB Setup. I bought the site from Brandon and have imported all the data going back to when John owned the site. I have rearranged a few things and added others. I still have work to do. I have to import the blog, gallery and cms data. I have a couple skins in mind that I want to use so I'll be changing the look in the next couple days. I have a few permission tweaks to do and I have to copy over my guidelines that I use on all my sites. Your username and passwords should work. This was an IPB to IPB merge so nothing should have happened with the logins. Let me know if you have any problems. I'd like to…

I got an invite to Tweetboard and decided I'd give it a whirl. I didn't like it at first, but, it has sort of grown on me. We'll see how it goes and if I decide to keep it.

  7. Started by AWS,

I purchased Novera from John at Transverse Styles. It is now the default skin for the site. If you would rather use the old style you can select it at the bottom left of the page from the dropdown or set it as your default style in the profile settings page.

I have turned on Facebook and OpenID logins. You can now login with your Facebook or openid login. I will be adding this domain as an OpenID provider so in the future you'll be able to login with yourusername.ipbsetup.com at any openid enabled site. I will be doing the same thing with Windows Live.

  9. Started by AWS,

Some of you might have an account here when John owned the site and then signed up again when Brandon owned it. If you have 2 accounts post in this thread what the accounts are and I will send you an email on each account to verify the accounts are yours. Once you reply I will merge the accounts. I have already merged John and Brandons accounts.

  10. Started by Brandon,

I'm going to import the old IPBSetup database from when John ran it sometime this week. I see another unique webmaster IPB DB that I may pick up and import as well. So if you see some errors this week, I'm sure it's me breaking something

  12. Started by Brandon,

I've added a few feeds to build some related content, you'll see them at the bottom of the index page. (and I plan to add a few more, but ran out of time) I'm going to see what I have to do to remove them from the "new post" link at the top of the forum. So bare with me while I do some work to build some traffic to this place B)

  13. Started by Brandon,

I've added the Invision Community Blogs, and I think I have all the usergroup settings correct, but I don't see how I can create a new blog. I'll just have to play around with it, or if anyone knows what I'm missing, please speak up.
