  4. History: I've been running a small website for about a year. For the first 6 months, I engaged several freelancers to help with SEO -- link building, submit to directories, article submissions, a few paid press releases, etc... none of this had anything more than a modest impact, and for the last 6 months I've done no SEO work, and few updates or content adds have been made to the site.
