  7. As we find ourselves with our toes over the precipice of June; signalling the half way point of the year, I thought it's a good time for an update. Apologies southern hemisphere. Invision Community 5 has been in alpha testing for a while, and a small group have found a good number of bugs, and offered their thoughts and suggestions, some of which we've implemented. During this time we've wrapped up the new editor, a boat load of UI improvements and more. We are now ready for the next stage, which is to give our alpha testers their own Cloud v5 to test with. This opens up testing for the Admin CP, and all areas without using developer mode. v5 has a lo…

  10. Wow, this is fantastic! I've always hated how Invision Community Forum doesn't have the hover-over tooltip preview like vBulletin does, but I knew it wouldn't be long before they caught up in this aspect. But boy did they do more than catch up - they've implemented this so elegantly and intelligently! Invision Power never ceases to amaze me. B)

  11. Would a IPS marketplace be a good idea here on our forums. We'll probably limit the scope of what can be bought/sold/traded to reduce the risk of scams and other garbage from flooding the forums. But I'm thinking a place where members can buy and sell their used IPS software licenses will be a nice place.

  12. looks like I'll have to update this as well. :D

What are your thoughts on the swiftness of the search. Its hard to get a good compare between vB and IP in this area because I am unsure of either site hardware. I bring this up because the 'view new content' (only search I have really used yet) seems really lethargic on all the sites I have been on. Considering how swift and responsive the rest of the sites seem to be, the search seems like its choking up somewhere. Or is it just me? To me, search responsiveness (and of course relevance) is crucial. Couple other things: 1- Is there a way to not show already read threads in the 'new content' results (kind of like vB) or do I just need to get used to it again? …

From an end user standpoint, I really like how the editor toolbars slide in when you click in the Fast Reply field. A similar action happens when you edit a post. It feels a lot slicker than vBulletin's quick reply and edit tools. The only thing I really don't like about the default layout is the new topic and reply buttons are right aligned..We read from left to right. I suppose that can just be changed in a template though. Just my .02, Dan

  16. The longest awaited iPhone feature is almost here, native iOS notifications, and we couldn't wait to ensure it is enabled for your Invision Community. Invision Community 4.7.9 is iPhone push notification ready for when Apple release their latest iOS update later this month. This means you'll finally get notifications on your phone, even when you do not have your browser open, to alert you of new content on followed items and more. A feature Android owners have enjoyed for a while. With notifications, you can have an authentic native app experience with built-in Invision Community features such as the manifest editor. The manifest editor allows you to …

  17. I've been running tests on both vB and IPB installs over the past couple of months, while lining up a couple of personal projects (this, in wait for vB Gold-er :P :D ). Every step of the way, these hurdles have been springing up in front of the vB side of the equation. First there were the bug riddled releases. Then, yesterday I finally decided that I will run one project on vB and one on IPB. Tonight I finally got some time to go ahead and start mapping out the final approach. I erased the previous install of the vB - because it had been up/down-converted a dozen times and I didn't want any straggler glitches left over - and proceeded to do a fresh install. Bam! "Fat…

Anyone here like to cook on the grill? Yea? Well so do I. But I think my pit is a little small. Plans are to build a bigger one when I get some free time. The handle on the little pit needs to be fixed, but it still works. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc194/kevcj/Bar-b-q%20pictures/DSC03813Small.jpg And here is my bigger pit. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc194/kevcj/Bar-b-q%20pictures/IMG_4088Small.jpg http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc194/kevcj/brett%20wedding/DSC09829Small.jpg

The whole site is really starting to take shape. I especially like the main page. The only suggestion I would make is to change the gallery display to look like forum categories until you get a larger amount of albums. Other than that the place is shaping up real nice.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of an important decision we've made with regard to the Invision Community Marketplace. After careful evaluation and consideration, we have decided to discontinue the Invision Community Marketplace, effective October 30, 2023. Over the past several years, we have noticed a decrease in usage of the Marketplace, with a staggering 75% decline in sales. In addition, we have observed a growing trend away from off the shelf customizations towards bespoke tailoring of a community by working more closely with developers. While it has been a platform for many dedicated and talented contributors to share their work, we belie…
