Here in East Texas the summer heats can stay in the 90s day and night. During july and august day time temps can get in the upper 90s, lower 100s with 90% humidity. I guess that is why I am glad to see fall and winter get here. The cool fronts have started blowing through, but we have yet to get a real cold front.

  3. I've been running tests on both vB and IPB installs over the past couple of months, while lining up a couple of personal projects (this, in wait for vB Gold-er :P :D ). Every step of the way, these hurdles have been springing up in front of the vB side of the equation. First there were the bug riddled releases. Then, yesterday I finally decided that I will run one project on vB and one on IPB. Tonight I finally got some time to go ahead and start mapping out the final approach. I erased the previous install of the vB - because it had been up/down-converted a dozen times and I didn't want any straggler glitches left over - and proceeded to do a fresh install. Bam! "Fat…

The name is Phenetic or Phen for short, or Nick if you want to get personal lol. I am quite fluent with IPB, although I tend to use vB more often because I am in love with it's styling system. I admined a forum over at BustedQuad which branched off of WrestleZone, we did successful until it was hacked and now I'm in the process of making a new site for everyone. I have admined quite a few different website, some small, some big, some were huge with over a million posts. I love helping new webmasters and definitely look to help with graphic and management problems in here.

Hi, I just signed up. I'm Olly, I'm from England and I'm 20 years old. I currently have one forum, but it's not using IPB... so I'll just sneak out quietly to the rest of the forum  I do like IPB though :)

  9. There's a lot for your members to love with Invision Community 5, and we recently covered five of the best features. Today, I want to discuss five features your team will love. One of the main concepts for Invision Community 5 was to reduce the complexity of power-user tools like theming and page building. These functions had been built around those with deep technical and coding knowledge, locking out many community teams. We also wanted to build new tools to help busy community teams organise, moderate and identify trusted members. Did we achieve that? Let's look at five new features we think your team will love in Invision Community 5. The new them…

Here are just a few opinions if you don't mind Brandon. First off it would be really nice to have a general chat forum here :P There is also a bug in the version of IPB that you are running on, in the image below there is supposed to be a grey background behind the blue line Iv'e made and the buttons are supposed to line up at the end: http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7051/imagetg.png Find this and just remove the 'background-color: inherit' from the code below: ul.post_controls { background-color: inherit; background-image: url({style_images_url}/gradient_bg.png); background-repeat: repeat-x; background-position: 50%; I'm sure you know how to, but it looks…

  15. So a few weeks back I applied to the Microsoft office 2010 Technical Preview program and today I was accepted. I see they've closed off the applications so its possible I was one of the last few lucky ones to make it in the program. So far, I'm in the installation process, and its gone 100% flawless from upgrading from Office 2007. I'm using the 64bit version on a Asus P6T mobo, 12GB ram and Intel i7 processor so this thing should run just fine! Installation took about 8 minutes to complete, which was far less than Office 2007 took for some reason and I'm about to fire up the program right now. But first the first thing I noticed was the "Send a Smile" application that…

I really think a lot of these forums should not be private until you have more post in them.

  18. Just kidding. Anyways, I'm el canadiano. I'm a proud Canadian, and I have am a very experienced man in forum software, including IPB, vBulletin, SMF, and MyBB. IPB is most likely one of my favourite forum softwares, I own a standard license myself, and I find the community and support is the best around. That's one reason I prefer Invision over vBulletin. Anyways, I hope to give my experiences while I'm here and I hope you do the same for me.
