What's the if condition to only show on the forum home? I see you guys have that here and I can't find any documentation on their if conditions.

Okay, I'm still w/ VB, but am seriously looking at IPB. There are 2 mods I would need to find which would help me make a decision to jump ship. Post of the Month Mod - I downloaded the post of the month mod from vb.org and it has become pretty popular among my members. I wouldn't want to take that away. Reviews System - My reviews section has become really popular and definitely distinguishes me from my competitors. I'm currently using GARS, but am not 100% satisfied with it. I think one of the big things holding back Invision Community Forum is their lack of a robust plugin system. One thing that I have been spoiled by in vBulletin is the ability to easily and quickly create and/or add plugins and products to vBulletin. The hook system for templates and files is incredible and makes upgrading your forum painless due to less edits with files and templates. Is there any info on if Invision Community Forum plans to make this more robust in future versions?

Im in a bit of a muddle so thought I would post about it! Had the thank you mod on vbulletin and the members loved it. Now weve moved over to IPB ive tried to encourage use of the reputation system but its not really working, they all want the thank you mod! Found the mod for IPB 3, however is it worth looking at linking it up to the current reputation system? On VB you had the option of increasing rep with every thanks, which increased the pips and stars, however on IPB you just have the number. Or would I be best just turning the rep system off and using the thanks system only. I think it was nice to see someones pips and stars increase. Its a visual reminde…

I was using vB Photopost Gallery then moved to Photopost Gallery all working with vB4. But it just wasn't working right, dodgy layouts and various errors now and again. Nothing seemed to work as it should really. Then I moved my site to IPB again and gave it another shot. Using their gallery, wow, it's fantastic and looks so damn professional and no problems with it what so ever! I'd buy it if you want a gallery for your IPB website.

Are there any good bookmark modifications out there? I need one for Twitter and Facebook at least.

My hosts had to perform a reset on the server last night, which meant everything was rolled back until the 29th December. Does anyone know of a mod that will automatically backup the database? I used to use PaulM's mod on vbulletin, was hoping someone knew of something similar in IPB.

I have a couple of more questions about IPB as I'm contemplating making my change... Who uses IPB Converge to bridge with WordPress? How Easy is it? Does it "converge" user names, profiles avatars and everything or is it just a log-in system. I'm really curious if anybody had used WP for their CMS and then used the WP header in their IPB forum too. Also I was wondering about skins. I'm not finding as many as I do with VB and many are just updated CSS files but not new or unique designs.

I'm still working on my pages, but here is what we have on our main page http://www.ipbsetup.com and this is a demo set of pages I'm working on, http://www.ipbsetup.com/docs/demo (I just googled free css template last night & set this up) Hopefully I'll be able to play around with my demo pages enough to de-uglyfy the home page..lol I've edited the home page with a free template I found, I think it looks pretty sharp and it will do until I get more time to play with the blocks and databases.

I figured out how to add the banner on the "forumdiplay" (vb term) pages, but I haven't figured out how to make a banner show up on the index page and the thread pages. Here is an example of what I want. /monthly_12_2009/post-101-13382266805233_thumb.png

Will BBCode from vbulletin work if I add it to IPB, or are they software specific?

By default, IPB will store all cached data in the database. But if you would like to take advantage of a PHP accelerator or content cache, there is support for APC, eAccelerator, Memcache, XCache or for storing data in files. Admins of larger sites will likely want to take advantage of using an external cache source, but even smaller forums will certainly benefit. Invision Community Pages is very slick. At present, I am just using it in place of some pages I had set up on Logician's WebTemplates before the conversions. It looks to me as if the limitation to Invision Community Pages is your own imagination. As soon as I can get everything settled back after the conversions, I'm looking forward to playing with it some more.

Something that really annoys me is how the links are set to "_self" (open to the same page) How can I set all links, or even all external links to open in a new page "_blank" Thanks

Something I dig on my vBulletin forum is that I'm able to add the Tweetme button, is there a Tweetme mod or a way to add the button to the first post of a thread? Thanks

I'm looking at the reputation options and don't see how I can remove the message Action failed: You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day I maxed it out the other day, and it's never reset itself.. I still see the message even tho I haven't "liked" a post in a few days. Anyone know what I need to edit? :)
